Module Push to Azure / IoT without Visual Studio

I am trying to understand the Azure IoT workflow and have found that I need to use Visual studio for doing final docker container preparations / push. Of which is noted:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-edge/quickstart-linux

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-edge/tutorial-store-data-sql-server

Both require Visual Studio. I have no interest in using it and tried using Jetbrains Azure Extension, but found I still cannot do the full workflow and ultimately need to use Visual Studio to create the project, do the setup, and do the push. I am fine if I can do just pure linux command line, but I am having a hard time finding solutions for these. Some examples:

command: Azure IoT Edge: Add IoT Edge module

command: Create deployment for single device

I am assuming that these commands are just a collection of calls to azure and docker commands. What resources do you all have / know about that allows me to just do all this via command line?
