What’s the best way to use databases in C#?

I’ve written applications with my own Data Service implementation where I dispatch SQL queries with custom awaiters and such, but honestly writing string queries in high level languages is just a pain. So wrote my next project using EntityFramework, which worked but, as we all know, has some weird bugs or design issues (I was using the .NET Framework version instead of the .NET Core version).

So I wanted to ask, what do you guys recommend for databases in .NET? Is EF the way to go? Are there better type safe libraries?
