Most C# applications I have created have ended up as .EXE files which were later used on Windows Servers. But that is no longer the case in my new company. Here we are using Mac and I am about to build an executable program using C# that will be sitting on an Ubuntu.
I am aware of Wine but that is not what I want to use to run the applications. The programs I am about to create are both console applications as well as ones with a GUI.
I have also experienced programming with Java during school years. But once you start working with C# it is a pain to go back to Java.
So I am wondering if there is a way to create executable files (not necessarily .EXE) under the .NET framework while avoiding third party programs such as Wine.
