Cosmos DB Billing

I was messing around with a website hosted in azure db, which I haven’t looked at for a few months and I’ve just been hit with a £1000 bill for a pay-as-you-go cosmos db. I’m obviously going to delete it now, but is there anything that I can do to get my money back?

It has been taking no traffic as it was just a side project that I connected to locally and I had a developer subscript for £25 per month plus the free credit when creating an account.

Apologies if this is not the correct forum, but in my naivety I didn’t imagine a 1MB database could cost that much money in just a few months!

Edit: So the billing is mostly for request units, which means someone has been hammering my database. I feel like such a moron that someone has been able to get hold of my connection string.
