Why are there differences in app insights telemetry between live metrics view and digested view?

Not sure if digested view is the right way to phrase that but essentially we have telemetry filters/processors that filter out certain classes of exceptions we generate that are just application level faults caused by user inputs or other situations. They’re not critical actionable errors most of the time.

They don’t show up when I query log analytics, but when I’m using the live metric stream I see all the exceptions and it seems completely unfiltered.

I’m not necessarily saying this is a bad thing, it is nice to be able to see the unfiltered view in case those usually not actionable errors turn out to need action but I’m just curious what’s going on under the covers to cause this behavior.
