Get a “starting” number before saving to a textfile

I got a function saving the inputs from the user. The inputs adds to a list, and then into a textfile.

But before it adds into a textfile you should get a number BEFORE all inputs.

For example:

You print in your name, address, phonenumber, country. Then it saves it to the list, and when it prints into the textfile it should be like:

1 /1 is the number/, your name, your address, your phonenumber, your country;

then next input would get 2 as a value, then 3, 4, 5 …. as long as possible.

If you delete for example number 3, then you should get number 3 next time you save something.

“If number == exist, do ++”

How do I do this?
