MonoGame + VS2017 – How to import assets?

Hi Folks,

I just fired up MonoGame in VS17 and I am having problem with assets (need .PNG file as asset).

  • Building empty solution works
  • In the ‘Solution Explorer’ -> ‘Content’ -> ‘Add existing item’ I have already added the .PNG (WhiteDot.png)
  • Initialized 2D object as : ballTexture = Content.Load<Texture2D>(“WhiteDot”);
  • I get a Runtime Exception that WhiteDot asset could not be located…

  • In VS2017 when I go to the ‘properties’ of WhiteDot.png’ I can not see any ‘Asset’ setting which would enable me to set the asset name

Please Help!
