I downloaded Visual Studio Community, since it was recommended by the download page and because I am new to coding and scared by many of these acronyms, but the only options available for starting a new project all require Windows 10 to access or write or distribute.
What gives!?! Why offer this to someone who’s clearly not using Windows 10 to begin with?
Ranting aside, what can I do now? The only recommended IDEs I see are either Visual Studio, costly professional programs, or community-maintained IDEs that assume the user is knowledgeable in coding.
What options are available to a newbie coder like me? Or is there something in VS Community that I’m not seeing?
