libvideo for YouTube – Progress Update

Hey guys,

The response was really positive last time so I thought I'd give an update.

First off, I'm pleased to say libvideo 1.1.0 now supports videos with encrypted signatures! What this means is that you'll be able to download more videos from "official" channels, like Vevo.

Other announcements:

  • A bug where we would "snip off" part of the URL has been fixed; this should lead to less 403s.
  • FLV extraction support is coming soon (preview), which means you'll be able to extract the audio from your favorite track.
  • Most of the API has been rewritten, including some name changes; you can see the full changelog for details.
    • The API rewrite has made the library way less coupled to YouTube, so we may be supporting other sites (e.g. Vimeo) in the future.

As usual, here is the project's homepage on GitHub. You can install it on NuGet.

Thank you for all the support by the way, it's really motivating to know so many people are using libvideo!
